Pastor Christopher and Kathy Brown
Chris grew up in Pearisburg, Virginia, and then Clifton Park, New York, the youngest of five children. Graduating from high school in 1979, he worked in banking and as a securities broker for 10+ years. In 1988 Chris felt called by God to go into full time ministry and attended Moody Bible Institute (MBI) in Chicago from 1989 to 1993 graduating with a B.A. in Pastoral Studies.
Prior to attending MBI, Chris and Kathy met and were married in September of 1988 in Wethersfield, Connecticut. They have two children; an adult daughter and an adult son. Kathy graduated from Barrington College, Rhode Island with her Bachelor of Science in Social Work. She has worked in the field of social work for 30+ years.
After graduation from MBI, Chris pastored a small church in Racine, Wisconsin from 1995 to 2002. He and Kathy moved to Massachusetts where he attended Bethel Seminary of the East (BSOE) from 2002-2006 and graduated with his Masters in Theological Studies. While attending studies at BSOE, Chris was called to be the Assistant Pastor/Director of Ministries here at First Baptist Church in November of 2004 until July 2006. After acting as Interim Pastor for eight months, Pastor Chris was voted in as Senior Pastor on Palm Sunday 2007.
